Enroll your first computer

MagicFrog does not ask you to buy new machines. An existing physical computer, VM, or server enrolls with a single command and becomes an explicit target for agent operations.

Three prerequisites: the MagicFrog CLI installed on the machine; a MagicFrog account and a reachable control plane — the pairing-code step consumes an account credential, so run magicfrog account login first or pass --token; and network reachability from the machine to the control plane.

Then run:

magicfrog enroll --server https://<your-host>:4096

The CLI requests a short-lived pairing code from the server and displays it with its expiry. You type the same code back to confirm; the CLI exchanges it for device credentials — the computer name, a device fingerprint, and the detected capabilities (OS, architecture) are reported in the same step. Credentials are written to ~/.magicfrog/credentials/device.json with file mode 0600, and the machine appears in your computer list.

Here is a real enrollment, recorded against a running self-hosted server:

Two things worth knowing: the device credential is a channel independent of your account session — it has its own token and can be revoked without touching your account login; and magicfrog unenroll revokes access only — no shutdown, no reinstall, no touching the machine's own data.

To enroll non-interactively, add --yes: magicfrog enroll --server https://<your-host>:4096 --name build-agent-01 --yes. The full flag list and the device credential structure are in the enrollment doc.
